After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Slippery Rock University in 2011, Dr. Sam then went on to complete her Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) at Old Dominion University in 2014. She has recently obtained a certification as a Functional Nutrition Informed Practitioner (CFNIP) through Evergreen Certifications.
Dr Sam began my career as a traveling physical therapist where she worked in a variety of settings. Ultimately, Dr. Sam found her passion in treating patients in an outpatient setting, specifically with orthopedic conditions. She believes in the importance of being an active listener to help get to the root of each individual’s dysfunction. She takes a comprehensive approach to treating her patients by not only addressing their physical impairments, but also educating them on the importance of how leading a healthy lifestyle impacts pain and functioning.
Outside of work, Dr. Sam enjoys spending time with her husband and two children particularly when it involves being out on the boat. Her passion for health and nutrition allows for an easy avenue for participating in activities such as hiking, playing soccer, and strength training. When not out on the water or outside working out, she loves reading an educational book or listening to a podcasts in her spare time.
